Thursday Thirteen #26: What Kids Did: BC (Before Computers)
It's hard to believe there was a time before everyone, from age 2 to 92 sat in front of a computer for long stretches of each day, I know. But, there was a time BC (before computers), when kids actually did these things, and enjoyed them:
1. Hopscotch
2. Jump Double Dutch (" 1 ten, twenty thirty forty fifty sixty seventy....")
3. Clapping Games ("Miss Lucy had a steamboat, the steamboat had a bell, Miss Lucy went to heaven but the steamboat went to hell-o operator....")
4. Jigsaw Puzzles
5. Colorforms
6. Pick up Sticks (not sure why anyone thought this was a good idea, but it did take some skill)
7. Tinkertoys
8. Paint by Numbers kits
9. Etch-A-Sketch
10. Mouse Trap
11. Chinese Checkers
12. Easy Bake Oven (who knew, prior to its advent, that it was actually possible to bake via the power of one lightbulb?!)
13. And for me, the ultimate joy: the 64 box of Crayola crayons (I often say it's why I'm an artist today!)

Happy TT :-)
My T13 about Saturday morning TV is up.
Thanks for stopping by!
Need I say more? :-)
I tried to get my own kid hooked on the colorforms and the jigsaw puzzles, needless to say, he was so unimpressed.
And as for the crayons, as long as they came with the sharpener, hey, I was good to go! Great list Michelle. Took me back down memory lane (smile).
TV and computer games win out for older kids,, but smaller kids are easily pried away from those. hehhe :)
Awesome TT!
