Recent Creative Pursuits: The Talisman Series

In the hectic runup to the show we did last weekend, I neglected to post pictures of my newest work: the Talisman Series of wall hangings.  There are three sizes, and each incorporates textured polymer elements with wire, mulberry or banana paper and beads.  Some of the beads are imported and hand-delivered to me by my wonderful sister Melanie from her recent trip to South Africa.  Others have my own, handcrafted beads and natural feathers.  I loved using my "old" jewelry designing skills on this series; many of the talismans contain elements which could almost be worn as necklaces.  Each Talisman has a Swahili word as its title, describing my vision of its meaning.

Oh. My. GOODNESS!?!

...lady, these are FANtastic! I can only imagine how much more so in person (and I look forward to testing this theory, soon)!

Congrats on the new series! Your work is stunning, and it has been WAY cool to have a front row seat to the changes/developments over the past 5+ years :)

I can hardly wait to see what you come up with next!
