My Wednesday Workshops: The Cure for "Hump Day" Blues
I'll be teaching six workshops at Raleigh's favorite art supply store, Jerry's Artarama this year:
Wednesday, April 18: Hand Carved Stamps for Polymer. I'll share my love of carving original designs to use as stamps. Here's the workshop description: Want to add your own personal, creative stamp to your polymer projects? (pun intended) In this workshop, Michelle will show you how to easily transform your designs on paper into rubber stamps suitable for use with polymer clay. We'll get into the "Zen" of carving; you'll be surprised at how relaxing it can be! If you've already done some designs you'd like to carve, please bring them, as well as any inspirational images you like. The hand carved stamps you create in this workshop can be used on paper and fabric, too. This 2-hour workshop is $35, and students will need to bring linoleum carving tools, rubber carving blocks and a 2 oz. block of polymer clay.
I'll teach this workshop again on Wednesday, September 12th.
So, if you're in the area, have some time, and want to learn something new, come join me.
And, once you've signed up, send me an email....Artventuring readers will receive a special gift, created especially for them on the day of the workshop!
See you there.
Wednesday, February 15: Easy Paper Marbling for Mixed Media Projects. Marbled paper is one of my favorite techniques to teach, because the method and tools I use are very simple, and they produce beautiful, varied results. Students will come away with gorgeous, marbled papers which they can turn into Artist Trading Cards, journal pages or covers, book flyleaf pages, greeting cards, collage elements, or anything else they can imagine! The 2-hour session is just $35, with all supplies provided. To sign up, click any workshop's title; it'll take you directly to the Jerry's Artarama site.
I'll teach this workshop again on Wednesday, June 13th.Wednesday, March 14: Painted Paper Collage for ATC and More. In this workshop, I'll show the tools and "tricks" for creating vibrantly painted, beautifully textured papers which can be used for ATC backgrounds and collages. I'll also do some quick compositions using the hand painted papers, to show students that no prior experience is necessary to create outstanding results. This 2-hour session is also just $35, with all supplies provided.
