The Free Spirit Series

So that I could work out some of the problems which presented themselves on the still-to-be-titled large bamboo bowl I completed last week, I began some smaller ones (12-inch) with many of the same elements.  For these, I began by painting 3 concentric rings around a center circle with Lumiere paints (love them!).  Then, I arranged the cut paper swirls, waves, and plant shapes around the central circle.  The results are below.  Thanks to my friend Theresa Ellerby, who suggested the name "Free Spirit," I think that really captures the feeling these evoke, don't you?
