Upcoming Event: Art-a-Thon for Haiti

On Saturday, March 20th, Stan and I will be participating in this event, which is sponsored by Jerry's Artarama to raise money for Oxfam America's relief efforts in Haiti.  Along with over 30 artists, we'll each be creating a piece of art which will be auctioned off that evening.  We'll be there from 5 to 9 pm.  When I heard about this event, I was excited to be included--it's a great idea, extremely worthy cause and an interesting concept.  People often ask me how I create my wall hangings, and now, they'll get to see me in action.  I think I've decided to do a large bamboo wall piece which will combine acrylic paints, metallic inks and hand tinted paper decoupage.  The challenge will be to get it all done in the 4-hour time slot!  I'm planning to have some things pre-done, such as the hand tinted papers, and perhaps the overall layout; we'll see how it goes.  On my list of things to take is my camera, so I can show photos of the event here and on my Facebook fan page.

If you're in the Raleigh area next weekend, stop by and say hello!  Details are here.
