Picking Up the Pieces: Part Two

Quick post today; back in the studio working (finally) on some new Ancestresses.
This one is almost finished. The mask fits into the mokume gane helmet which I saved from the disaster earlier in the week. This mask is better than the original one which cracked (funny how that works). It doesn't show well in the photo, but the helmet has blue under the transparent clay, swirled with black and the bits of variegated leaf. So, I used blue oil pastel over micaceous iron oxide, then added gold Pearl Ex powder to accent the eyes and mouth areas. Work on the shadowbox will dictate whether the mask is finished; it all has to work together.
So, as I'd hoped, failure has turned to success--and now, it's time to move onward to completion.

Have a creative weekend.
