Visual Delights

This photo was taken by James Neely, who calls it Nature's Abstraction. It's a view of Lower Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona. I've always been drawn to the colors, swirls and striations of the slot canyon photographs, and this one's beautiful. 'Would love to see one in person someday.

in the Library of Congress. Taken in 1936, it's a timeless image of pride, resolve, beauty and adornment. At least that's what it says to me. Do you agree?


Catherine Foster's Kimono Series (#3 and #12 shown here ) are wonderful pieces, sculpted from painted woven strips of metal. About her art, Catherine says: “The creative process both fascinates and excites me as an experimental artist. This intuitive process becomes a joyful dance of feelings, emotions and expressions. This is what art is about. There isn’t a right or wrong way to do art, for it is a validation of our humanness and birthright to be creative."
I agree. Go forth and be creative today. That's what I'm going to do.
