Kianga Tiles

"Kianga" is the Swahili word for sun, or sunshine.  My mixed media low-fire clay tiles are designed with the sun theme in mind.  Each tile is mounted on a solid wood base, and measures 6"x6"x1 5/8"' Numbered, signed, and wired for hanging.
I will be creating more of these very popular tiles in 2021, so stay tuned!

Hello Kianga! Thank you so much for your comment. I love that we are fellow mixed media artists and art educators! Thanks too for your compliment about my work--I visited your website and enjoyed seeing what you do with fiber; something I'd like to delve into more fully in my own work. Thanks for stopping by, and please excuse this VERY late response. Be well,
Michelle www.kiangaart.com

Hello, Unknown commenter! Thanks so much for your compliments about my work. Most of my pieces combine wood, paper, low-fire clay, and either bamboo or MDF. Some do have fabric included, but they are not completely made of fabrics, like a quilt. I am very sewing averse, so fiber is not really my thing, but I do like to incorporate it in my wall pieces from time to time. Thanks for stopping by, and please excuse this VERY late response. Be well,
Michelle
